I was born in Aspen, Colorado, but until High School grew up mostly in Bolivia, South America. I currently reside in Saint Louis, Missouri, where I share a studio with several other artists.

My undergraduate studies were at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA, with a double major in Art and Psychology, completed in 1974.

I worked toward a Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in painting at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville from 1976-77.
